Edith and Paul in the mountains of the Berner Oberland above the Ecole d’Humanité (below). Thanks to Edith’s driving energy and practical abilities, they found a large chalet in the village of Goldern. Here, sheltered from the Nazis, they created during the war a school devoted to a humanitarian spirit, the School of Mankind.
