Boubakar Sock, the presenter of the programs, a former official of the Ministry of Agriculture's 'animation', a special service to motivate the peasantry, was largely responsible for the frank dialogue which emerged. Perfectly fluent in Wolof, he was and remains profoundly sensitive to the culture and aspirations of the Senegalese peasantry.
